Butterflies have landed

Aren't they gorgeous?

My daughter brought them home, they are feathers!  We added them to the front porch.
The brown leaves are real! Remember we are in Texas, when the leaves fall they are brown not pretty fall colors. (like the fake silk ones)

See brown leaves in background, we have about 10 Texas native oaks.  Which means about 25 bags of leaves that we have to pick up every year.  We mulch a lot of them.

Wish they were real monarch's.  I found some for the Christmas tree at Ross yesterday, jewel colored.

  1. What a beautiful way to bring fall color to your porch. They are very pretty. Butterflies invoke such a happy feeling, don't they. They don't bother anyone; they just flitter about here and there.

    Have a great day! La

  3. The butterflies are beautiful. This post made me look at our Texas brown leaves in a different way. When you've seen them all your life, you don't pay attention to them but with all of the burlap and neutral decorating going on, those leaves are the perfect shade of brown to go with burlap and neutral decor. I bet they would look lovely in a pile under a white pumpkin or in a big glass hurricane. Hmmm, interesting.
