Dust to Devine

I have a nice bad  niche problem.  But nice niche is more fun to say. I never know what to put there.  It is by the den leading into the master bedroom.  I had a very dusty, old arrangement that has been decoarting the garage for some time now.

The before is dirty, dusty, feathers falling apart.

The after is cleaned up, some feathers thrown away and peonies added.

the container is wonderful

The greenery got to remain and the base feathers.   Sticks got reused for height.
All I think it needs is some fabric underneath.  Hey this is the year of pink.  My niche is so fashionable.

Husband looking over my shoulder!

OK - we all have the family members make comments about "the blog"!  Hubbie was looking over my shoulder as I posted about my wonderful, great, cheap white creamers that I found at Goodwill.  He made the comment who would care? Did he realize I only paid 39 cents each?! Geez.... ladies care!

Everytime I shoot a picture now, the family comment is "is it going on your blog?"

So, I had to show hubbie my stats....

269 views on my latest napkins I am using.. haha, YAY!
269 people care about my darn napkins, that makes me so happy!

98 people viewed my post on my creamers!  Inspiration people!

Thanks, Susan, Kim, Cindy and Marty sent me over 300 views this week, thanks ladies.  I average about 700 views each week.  Small to some, but I am proud!  I am a blogger here me roar.

Call it a hobby, call it time consuming, call it insane...hubby is just jealous.  But, heck he is just sitting there watching Seinfeld reruns as I type this post.

Here is the handsome fella I will have been married to for 30 years on February 28th!  Much more improtant than blogging.  So, see you later ladies, I have to go watch Seinfeld for the umpteenth time.

59 cents times 3

I made a Goodwill run today in search of white creamers.
I found 3 and they were just 59 cents each, the huge white container was a whopping 99 cents!

They need a good run through the dishwasher, but they are great.

I will be combining them with these below for an upcoming bridal shower.  I am going to fill them with spring flowers and baby's breath.  Ooohlala.  I have 16 small to medium sized creamers and I will be platforming them on cake plates and hanging them by ribbons on an iron tree form.  Really Ooohlala.  You have to wait on pictures the shower is in March.  Best friend's son is getting married!

Napkins I'm using now

It is so quiet the whole house is asleep.  Heat is clicking on and off.  I get to enjoy my french vanilla coffee with a Gingerbread Pecan biscotti all in solitude.

This napkin has a different back too.

My Dollar Tree has the Nonni's biscotti for a dollar a box!  I have made two trips and have a supply built up.  I do try to limit myself to one, maybe two per day. (one cookie, not box mind you!)

Neglected Master Bedroom

Every other room in the house has been repainted once, most of them twice.  Why has our master bedroom always taken the back burner.  Not this weekend.  She got a new coat of paint, lot's of stuff taken out and not coming back in.  Now what to do about all the blank walls?

Just a few shots of the master bedroom.  Oh by the way I always forget to take before pictures, so these really are during the move around, out and prep stage.

Curtains will stay, bed has to stay in this location.

Old TV location

Inherited from family chest of drawers, hubby refuses to let me paint, but does look better without the flash.

The carpet looks bad, because well, the carpet is bad.  It is on our wish list.

New color on right, much lighter and brighter.  Nomadic Desert, Sherwin Williams

Have you ever used this stuff... really works, I mud first, when dry you tape over and you paint right over the tape.  Can't even tell it is there.

A fresh new corner of the room
The chair I needlepointed when I was pregnant with my third daughter.  Took me the whole pregnancy, I call it the Lynley chair.  Really not so pink, but needed to use the flash.

My daughter's Mother-in-law gave me this for Christmas.  Do I need to read between the lines?  ABC's of aging gracefully??

Alligator suitcase my husband bought before we were married.  A good place to rest my new nook book that I got for my birthday. It is tucked inside the fancy new cover/holder thing. My sister got one too so we can share books!

Side table below will be painted.  Kim at Savvy Southern Style just gave me some glazing tips.

Much Better TV area.

The old beauty of a chest cleans up nice.

Drapes get to stay, I love them. They are more of a mossy green.

I adore our sleigh bed, the detail on the headboard and wood pattern is unique.

A great match to the arch of the bed is our crescent window.  Fun to watch the seasons change through there.

That's a tiny tour.  I love walking in there today.  All clean and fresh paint!  It is a huge room and took a little over a gallon of paint.  But lucky for me the paint covered well and only needed one coat.

16.47 Junkin' trip finds

Such good finds.. I just have to share and help me question at the end of post.

Here is the breakdown.. green tags 75 percent off, pink tags half off.

Heart dish..37 cents, creamer 1.49

Candlesticks are some kind of stone or marble, carved all one piece..  .87 cents tall, 62 cents for the small one - green stickers

Tiny martini's ... 1.00 each

Bear votives will be going to my sisters for St. Pats parade in Baton Rouge.
1.00 each - pink stickers

Irish coffee glasses, I found two sets of four each.  One set with gold trim and handles, the other with shamrocks and the recipe printed on the side.  One dollar per glass.  Don't look Mom.  My Mom makes Irish Coffee the morning of the parade.  She'll get one set and my sister the other.

On another note....
Help anyone... where to find burlap ribbon?  Michael's only had wide loose weave, need about one inch wide, thick burlap.  I guess I could just cut strips from fabric??

I'm now a Sagitarrius

I don't even know if that is how you spell it?  But since the astroligical world is changing my sign, I will now take on the chocolate diamond as my birthstone!  Bye, Bye turquoise.  Never liked that anyway, but I did like being a Capricorn.

Astrology buffs should be using these dates, reflecting where the stars currently are aligned: Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16. Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11. Pisces: March 11-April 18. Aries: April 18-May 13. Taurus: May 13-June 21. Gemini: June 21-July 20. Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10. Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16. Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30. Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23. Scorpio: Nov. 23-29. Ophiuchus:* Nov. 29-Dec. 17. Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.

Did you notice the new one too.... Ophiuchus
Just thought I would rock your world, just before the weekend!

Napkins I'm using now

Napkins I'm using now..... a little frenchy pattern will do.

Don't you wish you could send a post card from Paris!

Until then I will just enjoy this Paris scene.  I have never been to France, have you been lucky enough to get to visit?

Where did these guys come from...

They just left for the holiday and now have come back.  I'm lovin' the new look of my mantel.

Lynn and I made center stage.  Lynn also found the iron child on the marble stand out shopping one day.

She sits up high out of the way, a little fairy!

Love the detail of the feet on these containers.

I like how our mantel wraps around into the entrance to the kitchen, two sided fireplace too.  (sorry forgot picture)... and found one.

Just a little bit of Mardi Gras creeping its way into the house.  I'm sure my Louisiana friends are in full force with their decorating for the season.
