Things I have learned about blogging

1.  I enjoy it.   Better than most of the TV sitcoms these days.

2.  I hate word verification.  I almost am to the point that I will not comment if it pops up.

3.  You get many more comments for home improvement postings and pet postings.

4.  I started this blog for out of town family members.  I think they view it, but never comment.  So now I guess it is just a good outlet for me.

5. Hubby is jealous of Mac of the computer.  I think he regrets buying the new Mac.

6. I have started and actually completed more projects in the last 8 months than in the last 8 years.  Blog pressure I guess.

7.  My parties will definately bump up a notch or two.  Party in the box me will have turned into Party in a crate.

8.  On my Christmas list... a new camera and power tools.

9.  Just a few of my favorite blog friends, Kim, Debbie, Gina, Kristi, Barbara, Christy.   I know something good is in store when I see a post with these words, Funky, Meridian, Mille Fleur, Plate Addict, Emmadime, French Country Home, Savvy Southern, Debbiedoo, Three Ring Cottage, A day in the life, Sweet up North, Miss Janice, Beaucoup Joie, Just Beachy, That old house, beach vintage, Sundrenched Moments.

10. I want a house that is all white, but will never have one.

11.  You thought I was going to stop at 10 didn't you?  I am glad to know that people "steal" ideas as much, if not more than I do.

What have you learned?  Comments please.... love those too!

  1. I have so enjoyed blogging also and the friendships that are made here. I agree, I have been so inspired to do more projects than ever before and I am always so inspired by the creativity of others. Hugs, Marty

  2. Okay, love this post!! I enjoy it more than most things! I hate word verification and had it on mine only until I had to do it on someone else's blog!! My family and friends may view it from time to time but not like my blog friends! My hubby teases me a lot about the blog! I have also completed more projects because of blogging. That keeps the hubby happy! For my birthday I got a neumatic stapler/nail gun and now I want a paint sprayer for Christmas! Kim and Debbie are the two that got me started here and have been great support!

Not that you asked for my comments on your statements!! lol I just got a little excited that I'm not the only one that feels this way and does "copy" great ideas and modify them to fit my rooms!!

  3. Thanks for the mention, Lori! I LOVE blogging because it allows me the chance to peek inside other people's homes and see how they live. I'm a nosy old woman, I suppose. Tee hee.... And I'm out there camera shopping myself these days..... Happy Tuesday!

  4. I'm with you - I have completed more projects now that I have my blog to motivate me. Not saying that there aren't plenty waiting for me!

I love your Mac! I just got one last week and it is too fun! The only thing I miss is that I can't use Windows Live Writer anymore to put together my blog posts. Oh well, small price to pay!

  6. Hey thanks for shoutout! I hate word verification too. I have completed a lot more projects since I started blogging and I'm slowly becoming a better photographer because of it. It cracks me up which posts get a lot of comments and which ones don't. I can never predict which keeps it fun. I never thought I could actually sort of get to know people through blogging so that has been really fun. Enjoy the heat and stay cool!

  9. Lori, I LOVE this post! I love blogging as well; getting up and making myself "write" each day is a wonderful exercise for my mind. I have always said I wanted to "write a book" and this is the next best thing for me. I miss you, but love catching up on all the "neat projects" you have going on.

  10. Lori, I love blogging too and always look forward to your posts. You are too sweet including me in that list. Sorry I am late commenting. Blogging has made me get a lot of projects done that I didn't even know I needed to do. lol
    Have a super week,

    Kim

  15. One of the best things I've learned from blogging is this~people don't care so much what you look like, or if you have status in your community~they want to see what you can do!

Word verification is a ginormous pain in the butt. I hate it, too.
    Thanks for the shout out!
