I just have a hard time putting away family pictures. I take new ones, but some of the golden oldies just pull at my heart. So, what do you do when you have bags of family pictures?
I searched and found the perfect shelves at IKEA. At $14.99 I could not have made them and if I had they would not have looked so perfect.
So my afternoon project today turned out like this.
I started with a big blank wall.
You will only need screws, cross head screw driver, measuring tape, leveler and a ladder.
Bummer, IKEA. They didn't inlcude the screws with the shelves. But, luckily hubby had the perfect sized ones that I needed. The instructions said not to use frames taller than 40 cm. America IKEA! I was so glad this frame I had bought had both cm and inches. This was the largest frame I was using so I was good to go.
I had to center the shelves on the wall and could not use stud placement. They had three screws on each shelf and fit pretty snug. I'll let you know in the morning if everything is still in one piece.
Now you see the screws, now you don't. They did come with little stickers to hide the screw heads.
Done! And it is exactly what I needed and wanted. I used black and gold frames.
My Pinterest inspiration is below.
looks great! Kelly
ReplyDeleteI love that!!! I have pictures that I just can't take away! What a perfect way to display them. I love Ikea!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW... I have a new baby niece! I am going down next week, but I won't be able to hold her yet. She was born 2 months early! She is a trooper though and doing really well! I am going to have a baby to play with soon! I just wish she didn't live so far away!!!
I love it. I just need a wall. Your shelves and display look fabulous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Lori. Of course you can't put away those photos. Just keep adding them. The inspiration photo is great. You have a ways to go to match that wall. '-) But as those precious twins grow, you'll fill up a wall in no time.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed scrolling down through the recent posts of the twins. They are so cute. I know they are a joy!
Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter Weekend.......Sarah
