Oh how I love a great find!

$10.00 for the shelf
$3.00 for the spray paint
Had the Minwax finish
Had the great "stuff"

Project done and lovin' it.

Before, found this at Goodwill by my office.  Thought it had potential.

Finished and in place on the window seat in the kitchen.

Now a peek at each shelf. I used white creamers and some of my silver pieces.  The silver creamer is pewter and part of a set that was a wedding gift 29 years ago.  You always remember the gifts you received that were a little different than a plate, knife or iron.

Bottom shelf

I went with some Anthropology knobs that I already had for a pop of color.  But, I change knobs constantly, I have a drawer full.  These will change, maybe red at Christmas.

Moving on up.

White creamer on right, my first everyday china pattern.  Silver tulip bowl found at Round Top Texas flea market.  Bird - Micheal's.

Next up...

Little iron fairy sitting in a pretty silver filagree bowl and tiny covered white crock.

To Top it all off...

Silver candy dish, Round Top too!  Creamers homegoods.

Few more full views.

I like the added cut outs on the sides, gives it some character.
I'm glad I sanded the edges, makes it no so perfect, more character.
Tiny little drawers, added bonus storage, they won't hold much.
Maybe some napkin rings would fit perfectly.

  1. Love those knobs on there. They look even better than I imagined. The whole display looks great and again, I think you picked an interesting place to put the shelf and I like that. I'm also liking those shutters in the background. Those are awesome.

  17. This turned out really great, Lori & it is the perfect size for that corner!

I laughed about your "unusual" gifts comment...its true! I always try to buy new babies an outfit that will fit them at their 1st birthday because I remember so well the one that I received as a gift from my DH's aunt. Can't remember very many of the others but the BIG sized outfit really came in handy in 12 months. LOL
Thanks for bringing up that fond memory from about 40 years ago. :-)
