I love the color of these blue mason jars and have so much fun filling and using them. Did you notice my new header? Wonderful Kassie created it, see her button link bottom right. More on her in my next post.
The above picture is an above picture of a jar in a wire holder.
The below picture is all my jars nestled together.
Did you know they have numbers on the bottom, 13 is rare because people thought they were bad luck and usually broke them. Anybody know what the numbers were for? BJ below commented to google so I did. The numbers are a batch number. Thanks BJ.
You can see the different shades of blue on these two jars hiding behind the cheese box.
My daughter and I love to use straws, they hold anything well, corks, silverplate, matches.
Shortie with the hinged top was found at Round Top. I asked how much, the seller said "5, but I'll take 4". Gee he didn't even give me time to go lower. I should have asked if he would take $3.
Christmas straws were fun, from Hobby Lobby of all places.
I usually won't buy them unless they are under $8.00. I have spent from $2.00 to $8. My first one was the eight dollar one, since then I haven't spent that much. I have seen them as high as $14.00. Grandma would be shaking her head in amazement.

ReplyDeleteNo, I don't know what the numbers were for, but now you've go me all curious and I'm going to have to find out. I also went to see what number was on the bottom of my aqua hinged jar... # 8.
ReplyDeleteYour new header is fantastic! Buttercups (daffodils) are my favorite! We have always called them buttercups, but I think daffodils is official. I love how you have your mason jars all over and use them so smartly! Kim from Domestic Bliss just bought several today and has them on her etsy store. I think I may have to look for these around here!
ReplyDeleteYou can google and it will tell you something about mold numbers...?
