More silver, never enough

Yes, I passed a Goodwill and had to stop.  Will people quit taking all their grand-mother's things there.  Will Goodwill please keep selling them cheap!

Spent $3.00 each item was... 99 cents.

Before....

A candy dish, a plate and another Rodney Kent aluminum bowl
(was a basket handles missing, 99 cents remember)

Remember these tulips..

Looking pretty bad even for 99 cents.
But, I got out the silver cream and went to work.

I did not even know I had a Rodney Kent tray, a gift to me from my Mom, one of her wedding gifts from 50 years ago. ( a friendly blogger informed me of what I had)

Here it is... notice the same tulip pattern

and the mark is the same on both pieces.

Now the after, all cleaned up and pretty.

This actually was once a basket, the handles are missing,
but I thought it would make a nice chip bowl or bread basket.
This has a pedestal attached to the bottom too.

This one piece still needs some cleaning, any suggestions on the dark pit marks
I am having trouble getting off?

I think the candy dish cleaned up the best.

Fifteen minute stop at the store was well worth it.

  1. That was three bucks well spent! I really like that plate the best even with the spots still on it. I've seen the tulip design stuff before and didn't know what it was either. I'll have to keep a keener eye out when looking in the future.

  4. Lori, those pieces are so pretty all shined up. Glad you saw the potential in those pieces. Yes, I have had Rusty, who is male, for 15 years. He just sleeps mostly so he doesn't get his picture taken much any more.
