Baby Shower for a best friend

My daughter and two of her high-school friends did an amazing job with this party I attended on Saturday.  I say "attended" but you know how the Moms get to work in the background at these things.  For example, I got a text at midnight the night before, asking if I could please show up at 8:30 the next morning and attached to the text was a few things she was thinking about that still needed done.  Let's just say the vacuum cleaner was waiting for me when I got there.  But a bonus, so were these two little cuties.

Hadley is trying to wave at Lala.

Sisters holding hands.

After a few snuggles, their Dad whisked them off to Grump's house (Michael's Dad and Mom's house) for the morning.   Denise was out of town so it was an all man babysitting event.

Hadley and Layton are thinking "Oh look, Lala is here! And we will get lots of kisses and snuggling!"

I am only showing two pictures of the party to get you warmed up for this extravagant baby shower.

Who says Baby Boy showers can't be extremely adorable.  Not a problem at all when Ann Marie, Candace and Jessica are hostessing.

The MVP baseball theme was perfect.  Perfect because baseball was Dad's sport growing up.

These four met in high school and cheered together.  Ann Marie, Candace, Claire (mommy to be) and Jessica.  They have remained and will be life long friends.  Candace flew in from Arizona and Jessica from Missouri.

Batter up!  Decorations next post.  I also will share a great recipe for sausage and cream cheese sandwiches.

  2. What sweet little ones in their matching outfits!! :-) Yes, I do know what you mean about moms getting "involved in these things". My daughter is a maid-of-honor and she recently hosted the bridal shower. I helped her out by purchasing some of the table decor and I made some of the food. And the brides mother offered her home, because none of the bridesmaids have an apartment big enough for 20 guests. (they are all just recently out of school and working first jobs.) Other than that, the three girls managed to do it all. Learning to host a party sure does have a learning curve though, doesn't it? By the time all their friends get married, they will be old pros.
