Working 9 to 5 and helping kids!

I volunteered to work our Global Sales Conference.  I had to stay here for four days.  The wonderful Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, TX.

Over 900 sales representatives from around the world.  I wanted to show you the best thing from the week.  Each two day session had a team building event.

They were seated around blue tarps.

That were filled with bycycle parts.  But not all the parts they needed.  They had some of the other groups parts mixed in with theirs.  Their goal to collect their parts and build their bike. The bikes would then be donated to needy children.

They had to meet in the blue squares with their extra bike parts, but could not speak to trade.

Once the bikes were completed they had to be taken to the technical station to be inspected and any problems fixed to be ready to ride.

Both sessions completed over 80 bikes.

The kids were brought to the hotel later in the day (thinking they were touring the hotel) and the sales represenatives had no idea the kids were coming to receive their bikes.  Great awwwww... moment.

Everyone loved it and there were many tears.  (from the adults) the kids just were all smiles and hoorays!

I love the company and people I work with.

  1. What an awesome team building activity with an amazing reward. Love Ft. Worth and the people in it. By the way, doesn't the Omni have the most amazing restrooms? (not in the hotel rooms but in the common areas).

  2. Hi Lori! Oh, this was just awesome! I heard of 'build a boat' but never a bike! What a wonderful thing to do to give these to the little children.
Thanks for popping in to see me.
    Be a sweetie,
