I just happened to have left over moss from a wedding that I recently decorated. The huge K is from Joanne's and I did use a coupon, making it only $5.00.
You need lots of moss and tons of hot glue. I think I used about twenty sticks. Just pull the moss apart and start glueing it anywhere there is a cardboard spot. Messy, but super simple project.
I first placed it here because I thought the mirrors needed a little something else. Remember I told you I have a daughter with an interior design degree. First she turned up her nose when I walked through the door with the cardboard K, then she really hated where I placed it.
(Don't tell her that it really is better way up on the top of the armoire)
She moved the mirrors too, more on that later.

Love the moss covered letter! I will agree that it looks best on the armoire. It's a nice prominent spot for it there.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Jane
I've been wanting to make one of these! I agree, I like it on top of the armoire, too!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great up there! It sounds like a fun project.
ReplyDeleteMy brother is a designer, so I feel your pain. :)
These kids...they know it all! Does look good there:) Thanks for sharing it at my NTT party.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Don't you love it when your kids seem to know more than you do? LOL I get it all the time from my DD. Oh...and the "MOTHER, you never throw anything away!" ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love your mossy letter K & it looks like a $40-$50+ item. I saw lots of them at Christmas time last year.
Well done!
hugs,
Rett
This is a really neat project! One I might have to try some day!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will bring one of your projects or posts to my Potpourri Friday Party this week. Link-up starts on Thursday afternoon. Without a doubt, your participation will help make the party better!
I love it! I've been wanting to make one of these forever. I don't think I've ever seen such a large letter though. How long ago did you buy it?
ReplyDeleteI love the big K Lori...I bet you have a few hot glue burns too.
ReplyDeleteLove this project!!!! Your K is super cute!!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'll be back!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori, well, this is just the cutest thing ever. I totally love it. I might just have to copy this. Thanks!

I really do love your moss covered initial and may have to do one for myself. Can't wait to hear the stor of the mirrors!
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased that you linked to Potpourri Friday. Your participation certainly makes the party more successful . I appreciate you, Lori! I hope you will make this one of your regular stops each week!
Love the way yours turned out, Lori! I went with the next size down and used rolled moss on mine. It was probably just as messy! That is definitely the downside of this project! Otherwise, great results with little effort!
