New plant, new boxes, new kitchen spot

I was de-cluttering the kitchen and changed one little corner a bit.  I had the wooden boxes waiting to be used.  Found them at a McKinney, TX flea market.  I still have one more to use somewhere.  All four boxes were a total of $10.00. I bought the plant at our farmers market and just started shuffling stuff around.

The candle and cutting board were the only things that got to stay.
This fluffy fern is so green and fresh looking in the kitchen. I'm a bit of candle nut, so the mason jar holds matches.  I love when wedding receptions still have baskets of matches as favors.

But something just didn't look finished.  Of course, I didn't notice it until I loaded the pictures on my mac.  That dirt.

It needed hidden under a bed of moss.  Now complete.

Enjoying my new little spot in the kitchen.  Overlooks the den too, double good karma.
