Ooohlala Floral and Kassie

Kassie helped me again with a blog makeover for my floral web page.

Please take a look here... Ooohlala Floral

See Kassie's link at the bottom of this blog.  She is so easy to work with and she does header designs for $20.00!  She did a bit more for me and still was affordable and so professional.

Designs by Kassie - means no headaches for me.

Thrifting again

Goodwill finds first, love the shape and color of this basket and the wooden handle is so sturdy!  Platter last thing I found.  Great detail on it.  Wicker little stool needs a fresh coat of spray paint, I just am not sure what color.  Basket 1.99, platter .79 cents, stool 4.00.

Now the really good stuff, Dillard's clearance.  Boots, napkins and napkin rings.

Gianni Bini boots, 100.00 for 18.00.  Good Texas boots ya'll.

One of my favorite's Rose Tree napkins, black and white fun swirly pattern.
One fun yellow rick-rack one for Easter decorating and two metal Kemp and Beatley napkin rings.

Black and white napkins - 6.00 for .90 cents each
Yellow with rick-rack trim 5.00 for .75 cents
Napkin rings - 4.00 for .60 cents

And look who fits perfectly on my pedastal from Laurie Anna's Vintage. Click on this link for the cutest store in Canton, TX.  Tell her Lori sent you.

Home improvements for the Tennisons

My daughter and son-in-law have made some new home improvments. They have just tripled the size of their back patio and had the newly poured concrete stamped and stained.  They found the guy to do the job on Craig's List.

Ann Marie took the door off the coat closet and added a chandelier, Michael trimmed out the door frame.
They are creating a wine closet and are now trying to come up with an idea for a wrought iron door enclosure.

She is getting ready to host her Junior League committee luncheon that she is chairwomen of this year. Literacy project (Proud Mama comment! please allow me.)

The moss and natural balls in the basket look great.

She has started collecting tea cups.  Her china pattern is silver rimmed, see the other pictures, with a hammered pattern.  Her silverware is a Waterford pattern.  I know I should remember all the names, sorry.

I gave her this tea cup and saucer for Christmas.

Enjoyed visiting with them. They live in McKinney, TX.  It is about a 25 minute drive for us up Highyway 121.  A little far, but plenty close.  I have friends whose children live in other states, so I am not complaining at all!

Lake Weekend

Fun weekend at Richland-Chambers lake outside of Dallas.  We were lucky enough to join the Fox family at their wonderful lake home.  Front view above.

Back view with the new enclosed porch.

Our beautiful view from our bedroom.

a few shots of inside...

But outside was were the real fun was.

Sean and Mel's new puppy Molly were ready for a boat ride.

Thanks Fox Family... we had another great time!

Till the next boat ride!

Google Reader convert

I tried to keep my following to a small number, but guess what?  There is too much good stuff out there on all of your blogs.

So I tried Google Reader.  You have seen it down it the right hand corner of your dashboard, under your items that you read through each day.

Rettabug gave me this suggestion
I use Google Reader all the time. I have learned to START my posts with a photo, because if you start one with text, you don't see a photo in Google Reader.

Suzanne gave this suggestion:
I use google reader, and if you want to comment, you have to click on the little arrow up by the post title. That takes you directly to the blog and then you can comment. It's an extra step. I just go through really quick and pick out all the blogs I usually comment on, and click on their arrows. I have a whole lineup of blogs to comment on when I'm done. Then I just read the ones that are left after that, and if I want to comment, I do. I think it's faster, but I've never timed it. :)

Someone else suggested that you click on the star of the blog if you want to leave a comment.  Read all the way through the new posts, then go to your starred blogs and leave comments all at one time.

Saves time!  Really try it.  I'm convinced.  (I do miss all the fancy headers though) You don't see those in Google Reader.

Any more suggestions and tips?
