Round Top - White

If you plan on coming down, the market is in Spring around the end of March and Fall around the end of September.  Round Top is population 79 or something like that, maybe 81 by now.  Finding accommodations is a bit of a challenge.  BandB's are booked years in advance. Very few hotel choices. We drove to Giddings, TX about a 20 minutes from the fields to stay at a very old Ramada. Luckily you don't spend much time in your room.

During the two weeks, probably about 20,000 shoppers show up for preview week and antique week.  It is in the middle of NO where, the closest large city is Austin about an hour and half away.  Dallas was a four hour drive for us.  We got to spend three days, two nights. If you come in springtime  the drive is loaded with Bluebonnets in the fields. Our state flower.

There is just so much to see.  I'll start you off with White, so put on your sun shades it going to be bright.

I want to go back, it is still going on....

Round Top - an explanation

There are several ways to describe the Round Top Antique Show.

Miles and miles of fields
Tent after tent after tent
Texas heat
Junkin' Bonanza
Canton on steroids
Sadly, happens only twice a year (but good for the bank account)

Pitty Pat's Porch pics below.

Whatever you call it and wherever you are, you must put this one on your bucket list and get here.
I think I took 200 pictures.  I will be editing for days and I have decided to break them into categories..
furniture, fabric, white, china, flowers, misc.

More posts are coming but a few pictures to make you want more.

Frankly Scarlet, get out of my way I'm buying that not you!

No, I didn't push anyone over.  It was way too hot and they would have been sweaty, just like me.  I can't tell you how many times we heard, "man it is hot".... and humid!
But we survived and I can't wait to share the fun with you.

Here was part of our group... after our picnic lunch. These girls can cook! Three sets of sisters in this picture.  Me, Joanie.. Melissa, Ann Marie, Laine and Taylor.  There were four other sets not shown.

The nice folks in this air conditioned tent forced Melissa and I to sit and melt into these down pillows.

It was so comfy... we almost fell asleep....

This is were we met for our first night Happy Hour... behind Zapp Hall.

That's all for now, I have to go edit some more pics.

Thanks for my Flora Doora

I got a sweet surprise in the mail.  Thanks, Jane with Flora Doora!

Go here to see more of her great creations.  She makes these fabric bags that are plastic lined and you can fill with flowers.  I got mine in the mail and immediately did!

This is hanging by my coffee pot, perfect match to the antique china pitcher in the background.

Hubby thought it would make a good remote holder too. I humored him.

Thanks for my Flora Doora, I love her.
