Before/After - Master bathroom

This master bath remodel has been a long time coming. We had to wait through three daughters in college and two weddings.

But we have started the final remodel....

Bathroom before few shots ... yes, I am being very brave to show these to you.

Pretty gross pale pink tile.

The draped treatment around the ceiling will be gone.  The fleur de lis stamps on the wall were two paintings ago.  Khaki below was the most recent color on the walls.

Carpeted bathroom! Mon dieu!

Fleur de lis overload is gone.

I think I kind of went wild with them to distract from the pink tile.

Gold fixtures will go, No more Las Vegas 1990's.  No more shell sinks either.

Lights went from original above to new oil rubbed bronze fixtures below.  They will be replaced too.

I did try the Pinterest inspired frame around the giant mirror.  Hubby wanted that to stay.  Sorry, Charlie! Lynn

Hot chocolate mousse!  Sip the chill away.  Napkins are getting ready for Christmas time!  December... my favorite holiday! month

Wood Floor refinished

You  might think we hired professionals, but no, this is a DIY production.

13 year old Bruce Hardwood floors.  We have tried a lot of products and they always ended up with a white haze on the floors after we cleaned them.  

I saw an infomercial and was going to give it one more try before I hired a professional team to clean and shine our wood floors. 

This works!  You just need a few hours per room. 

We removed all furniture, swept, applied the cleaner and waited 10 minutes.  Above and below is the shine restorer on half the room.  You have to let that dry for 45 minutes.  

Tada....all our kids said they looked like new floors!  Now, I just use the cleaner when needed.  You can shine every three months. I hope once a year will do.  Moving furniture is the hardest part.

Wedding Brunch

Last weekend my niece and her husband, of one week, came in town for a weekend of celebrations.  

All the Aunts and Uncles hosted a brunch.

We added a little bit of a New Orleans feel and had a great time!

Of course, the party was in full swing and I took no pictures of the yummy food.  Donut holes were put out first.

But our menu was....

We all just shopped our homes for anything frenchy and silver.

It was a chilly day filled with warm hugs and hearts!

Pots of gold and silver

DIY project and super easy!

Spray painted terracotta pots.

 I taped paper at angles on the plain pots and spray painted with gold and silver paint I had on hand.

Pulled off the tape and paper and tada!

Then forgot to take really good pictures of the in use.  

But you kind of get the idea.  They were a big hit at the party!  More party pics to come.  We had brunch for my niece and her new husband!
