You won't believe it either

Be prepared for the most amazing before and after of a girls dorm room.  Before I start let me say that I did buy my girls new comforters and desk supplies for their dorm rooms.  Plus one of those super cute little refrigerators and a new umbrella.

This Mom went over the top for her youngest daughter's dorm room.  The older daughter, Shelbi,  helped shop and set everything up, she cheered with one of my twins.  Thought you would want to know the connections, because I feel really special that I know them.  One, they are great people and two, they are great designers.  Shelbi said I had to give her Mom all the credit.  But they both have the eye for design, like mother like daughter is so true here.

Just take a look...

BEFORE

AFTER - yes I had to take a double take too.  I think the ceiling was the only thing they didn't change.

faux brick walls, doors, shutter, windows brought in
layers of color and texture
I would take all on-line classes if I had this dorm room.

I love this container thing that they found at an antique store in Abilene, Texas where the college is located.

Here is a glimpse of a party Shelbi helped plan too.  A baby shower at a restaurant in Dallas.

Shelbi has a great event site to look at here
and her personal blog here has more on the dorm room and party.

Thanks Shelbi for letting me share the fun.

Mom I want to have a lemonade stand this summer!

I came across the most over the top, adorable lemonade stand post.  Over the top kids and Mom too!

If you start now, you could have one of these up in running in no time months.

If your Mom is Christie you get to help and be involved in the whole process.

You will have the most show stopping lemonade stand in all of America for sure.

Best deal too, I bet they got a lot of tips!

You must go and see the entire post by Christie at Three Pixie Lane
Tell her Lori sent you and you want to know when the next lemonade stand will be up and running!

Pillow Power lunch hour and an introduction

I have an linen outlet that is within 10 minutes of my office.  So for my lunch hour I can stop by and shop.

Pillows were $5.00 each.  Custom, beautiful fabrics. Wonderful trim, they are made by Rose Tree!

and at the end of this post may I introduce you to Sonya from Beyond the Screen Door....her pillows and curtain creations just blow me away.  So since she doesn't live near by I have to settle for the wonderful pillows I found.  She has a great giveaway going on right now too!

I want to use these outside, I promise I will move them in every night.  Yeah, check back eith me at the end of the summer... but remember...$5.00 each!

love these, see the back view in the background?

Check out the trim.

This one is a rectanglar cube looking one made from linen toile fabric!  And perfecto for the black leather chair in the bedroom.

These are reversable prints.  Winter side and summer side!

Rectangular fellas on my brown leather chairs in the den.

Matching squares for the coach.  See front - back.

Wonderful trim again, casual.  The fabric is sooo soft.

Had to have this lovely lady for my red coach.  Reverse below, so sweet.

Now that you have seen these beauties, I must share a talented someone that is even more special and her creations are extreme and she will sew to your style.  My problem is she is in Oklahoma, moi in Texas.

May I introduce ...

Sonya.... from Beyond the Screen Door and just a taste of her wonderful creations.

Please visit her and you will so enjoy your time there.

My gift to you.. a cupcake party!

Melissa Lester from A Little Lovliness has given me permission to share her most adorable and fun daughter's cupcake birthday party.

This is my Valentine gift to all of you!

I found Melissa's blog while blog surfing one day about a year ago.  Melissa is from Alabama and totally "Southern".  I first started sending my girl's pictures of her son's outfits, because we always knew that boys could be dressed as cute as girls.  She is extremeley tallented.  She sewed the above aprons as party favors for the girls and guests. And yes she gives you many tutorials, she did make the fabulous centerpiece in the first shot.   She asked me to mention her friend and fabulous photographer.... Allison Hilyer Photography.  She said that Allison used a Shaby Chic finish on the photos.

Enjoy this explosion of girlyness!  You will have to go backwards through posts to enjoy the entire party and adorable party girls.  There actually was a Lynley.. just spelled a little different from my daughter's spelling.

Thanks Melissa for your wonderful inspirational quotes and lovely photos all year long.

Once again meet Melissa here and join Mary Ashley's party.
A lotta Loveliness!

Yum and fun!
