Three days, three years

Happy Easter

I have had this pink magnolia tree for three years and it never has bloomed until this year.  Just one bloom, but how gorgeous.

and then... It only took three days...not so long a wait.

He is Risen!

Teacher's friends are the best...

I had never been to a shower hosted by teachers before.  My oh My!! Do they know how to throw a party and decorate and cook and make a pregant fellow teacher feel the love.

This adorable R for Raylyn greeted us on the front door.

Raylyn is making her Mama look like she is about to pop, but we need Raylyn to wait until the end of May to make her appearance.  This yummy popcorn was sprinkled with pink chocolate.  Thanks girls, I took three home with me.   Hey, I shared.  

Part of the decorations were gifts.  How cute is that tutu and onsie?  And there was even a teeny tiny tutu, small enough to wear at the hospital if Raylyn feels like dancing home.  Notice the matching poof bow and bow socks.  There was even a tiny pearl necklace to match.

Love!!! Of course the florist in me will show you the flowers before the food.

Alright already... the wonderful yummy treats and I tried everything.  I had to be nice!  

We were greeted at the door and offered yummy lemonade.

Ok, you can't see it, but I am telling the truth. There was a surprise in these mini cupcakes. The frosting was light and melted in your mouth.  Then when you got to the middle of the cupcake you found the yummy surprise.  Somehow someone squished yummy salted caremel inside.  I think I had two, maybe three of these. Hey, they were tiny.  Three probably equaled one full sized cupcake.  I'm just sayin'. Darn, the baker lives in Sherman, TX.  That is a far piece from Dallas.  You know, way out in East Jesus. But hey, maybe she will meet me halfway.  

Urban Dictionary definition for East Jesus.  Just in case you are not from the South.

(Referring to a place that is ungodly far away.) Too far away for me to pick up cupcakes anyway. 

And then the really fun began.

Ruffles, bows anything that will be on Raylns's bottom was just way too cute.

And these are the wonderful women that made it all possible.  Thanks for working with my daughter and being such loving friends.  They look so cute and wait, this was after a day of teaching kids.  Elementary school, so you know they never sit down.  

Melissa and Raylyn you are so loved.

Great way to display a ton of photo's

I just have a hard time putting away family pictures.  I take new ones, but some of the golden oldies just pull at my heart.  So, what do you do when you have bags of family pictures?

I searched and found the perfect shelves at IKEA.  At $14.99 I could not have made them and if I had they would not have looked so perfect. 

So my afternoon project today turned out like this.

I started with a big blank wall.

You will only need screws, cross head screw driver, measuring tape, leveler and a ladder.

Bummer, IKEA.  They didn't inlcude the screws with the shelves.  But, luckily hubby had the perfect sized ones that I needed.  The instructions said not to use frames taller than 40 cm.  America IKEA!  I was so glad this frame I had bought had both cm and inches.  This was the largest frame I was using so I was good to go.  

I had to center the shelves on the wall and could not use stud placement.  They had three screws on each shelf and fit pretty snug.  I'll let you know in the morning if everything is still in one piece.  

Now you see the screws, now you don't.  They did come with little stickers to hide the screw heads. 

Done!  And it is exactly what I needed and wanted.  I used black and gold frames.

Baby Dedication

Everyone please join us in dedicating these little girls to a Christ filled life.

Yes, they were perfect and didn't make a peep. 

Ann Marie and Michael had everyone back to the house for dinner afterwards.

This table and prayer decoration greeted everyone as they entered their home.

Sorry, once the party started I was busy working the buffet.  I gave Hadley and Layton their pearl and crystal bracelets.  They had a tiny silver cross on them and fit them perfectly.  

PS - Ann Marie made the mobile in the background.  Each girl has one hanging over their beds.  The ribbons and dots are suspended from an embroidery hoop.
