Heaven with cheesecake inside

Really, I'm not kidding you...
Pinterest is going to make me gain weight.

Although I might stop with this recipe, it just might be extremely perfect!
I added pecans, because ... why not.

Smear the cheesecake mixture on on layer of crescent roll dough.  WHY did no one tell me, that they make crescent roll dough in SHEETS?  You don't have to mash the perferations.  How long have I not known this?  Do I live in a CAVE?  WHY didn't they make this from the very beginning of crescent roll time?  OK enough already, I am very happy now.

I added chopped pecans to half of the top.  Because a good Louisiana girl does that you know.  We always have a stash of puhcahns around.

I know your mouth is watering.

The original side of the recipe, just for tasting purposes of course.

Yum, yum, yum. Oh, do I have to wait for coffee in the morning for my third helping?

Tip, I used low fat cream cheese.  I also used sugar substitute (splenda).  That makes them guilt free, so you can just nibble away as you please.  Also, I have heard of people adding jams and fruit to the inside.  But for me, just give me the original, it just is too perfect.

Ingredients and instructions below:

Ingredients:
-2 cans pillsbury butter crescent rolls
-2 (8oz) packages cream cheese (softened)
-1 cup sugar
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 cup butter (melted)
-Cinnamon & sugar

Instructions:
Unroll and spread 1 can crescent rolls on bottom of un-greased pan. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread mixture over crescent rolls. Unroll and spread remaining crescent rolls over mixture. Spread melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Finally...new bedding

We have been complaining about our comforter for a while now.  It had a satin underside and would slip off the bed during the middle of the night. Depending on who pulled the hardest, it slid right over to their side.  And it really only needed for someone to roll over and the comforter went with them.  You don't think of these things when you buy one.

Out with the old - only about a year old, but hating it.  Long king sized shams, a jumble of pillows, just because, that is how they usually ended up.

In with the new....

I first found the quilted coverlet at Homegoods.  Popular item and hard to find one that didn't have a busy pattern or color.   It works! It does not slide and stays right in place all night long, and cozy warm too.  I found a light tan quite neutral one.  The grid pattern is nice.  I think the brand was called Gramercy Hill.

We had the fluffy throw in dark chocolate brown.  The pillows are from my favorite outlet.  Rose Tree. I went with three euro square shams and a smaller print pillow in front of each.

I have talked about the quality of these before.  Love the ruffled edge the braid trim.  Nice heavy weight polished cotton on the small ones.

And if I am longing for a splash of color in the summer I can flip the Euro's over and add a colored small square to the mix.  This foral side is really the front, but I was attracted to the back brown pattern.

Hubby makes the bed each morning, I think the three by three pillow arrangement will be much easier.

The small pillows were the bargain, they were found in the five dollar bins.  I had to dig to find three matching ones, oh the thrill of the hunt.  Uh, ohh.. looking at this photo I might need to paint the walls a more vibrant color........ but for now, I love it!

Black bean dip

Healthy alert and yummy.

Found on Pinterest and made for a super bowl party.

Five ingredients ~ black beans, tomato, green onion, feta cheese, lemon juice.

One pint of cherry tomatoes, cut in half, and roast in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
Drain and rinse two cans of black beans
Chop half a bunch of onions
Sprinkle in feta cheese to your taste level
Squeeze with juice of one lemon and I sprinkled some garlic salt for taste.
Toss all together, refrigerate or serve at room temp.

Everyone loved it.  Even my 23 year old.

Neighbors and a Valentine dinner

We had our neighbors over for dinner.  I just had to go with red, hearts and tulips.

Strawberries and champagne with dessert

I saved these bottles from our favorite lemonade.  Each lady went home with a bottle of tulips. Wink, wink!

Next time you see these mini salt and pepper shakers, grab them all.  I have enough for everyone to have their own, no passing needed.

I had champagne being chilled, but a guest brought a sweet red dessert wine that was perfect and bubbly.

Of course a little fleur de lis love, Mardi gras is on its way.

These are my most fun recent purchases, butter dome thingies.  I found them at Ross over the holidays.

The kitchen island got in on the action too.

Blue hour about to creep in through the window.  Candles lit and ready for dinner.

I always forget to take picture once everyone arrives.  But our simple menu below.

Just a few purchases

I promised I would show you what I brought home from Laurie Anna's Shoppe.
Now remember it was  more about a trip with my daughters, so there was more talking and less actual shopping.  But at Laurie Anna's I found these bookends and narrow tray.  Both are ceramic and blend with my Annie Sloan painted tables well.

At Paul Michael's shop I found a box of four nests and eggs, gave two away to Ann Marie and Melissa and brought two home for me.  The other purchase from there I can't show you.  It's for my Mom's lakehouse and she reads my blog.  I want to surprise her.

Spring is around the corner.  I have to tell you it was a good day and great deals. The most I paid was for the bookends ~ 15.95 for the pair!

We were Happy Little Campers

I saved this little corner of Laurie Anna's Vintage store for last.   She bought and refinished this little camper and has it displayed in her store.

Look it has it's own mailbox !  You almost missed it if you didn't look closely enough.

Totally filled inside.

Topped just perfectly.

Oh she must have been a happy camper too when she found this little guy.

Next up what came home with me.
Here is the link to Laurie Anna's Blog
Go over and enjoy even more eye candy.

Laurie Anna's Vintage Home shopping

I got to shop with two of my daughters.  How wonderful, an hour plus ride there and back for great girl talk and shopping in between.  My heart with pleasure filled.

When you enter Laurie Anna's Vintage Home store, you find lighting to fall in love with.
Table settings you could only dream of creating.

These are coffee cups I just fell in love with and more great lighting.

Another great table in room after room.

Everything pretty much whites, taupes and blues with touches of silver and burlap.  Great combinations, don't you agree?

Great inspiration at every turn.  I have some of those alpha eggs.

What did I tell you, great light fixtures everywhere you looked.

Her floral designer is so inspired by nature.

Creativity in every nook and cranny.

Little vingettes everywhere you look.
