I caved! Blogger is not free.

This is the message I got trying to upload photo's a few days ago...

Whoops! You're out of space. You are using 100% of your 1 GB quota for photos.Purchase more storage
Photos are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1 GB free quota for photos. Additional storage you purchase is shared between Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, and Google Docs, and is in addition to your free quota.Learn more

I tried everything to upload photos without using Google Picasa albums.  To no avail.  I'm sure there is a free way out there, but not for me.
You know me I thrift whenever I can, so I justified the $5.00 spend for more space by thinking of all the money I have saved elsewhere.  It really wasn't the five bucks, it was the being backed into a corner with no other way, that gripes me.
I had used 1GB of Picasa storage. Five bucks gives me 20GB more for one year.  Sounds like a deal, but a forced deal.

So if you get the above message, save yourself some time and PURCHASE more storage.  Google stock will be going up soon.  Purchase some of that too!

Now I have to wait 24 hours for them to load the new storage to my account!  Figures, Google computer systems must be slow.

UUUGGGGHHHH is now over.

Bad Blogger.com, testing picture load from shutterfly

Test, test this is only a test.  I loaded a picture from Shutterfly to see how it works.  Blogger is not letting me add any more pictures from IPhoto/Mac until I join Picaso and pay for additional storage space.  Any help out there in blogland?  Don't you love Melissa' wedding shoes? something blue

Goodwill hunting and a blogger photo upload problem

Why did I never go into a Goodwill stores before now...
Why... because I didn't blog and get jealous of what other people were stumbling across...

Both of these beauties I picked up for a mere 99 cents each.

This one is my favorite, it is stamped Syracuse China (old hotel china I think)

I have a problem, I was going to show you where they ended up in a vignette, but blogger photo upload is saying I am out of free space and have to pay to upload?  Has anyone else come across this problem?
Help please....

Louisiana Cookin' Dinner

We have some friends from Louisiana that live in our same town.  There actually are lots of people from Louisiana that migrate to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  Anyway, we both spotted this great magazine with wonderful recipes from home and decided that after each magazine arrives, every other month, we would choose a dinner from the magazine and have friends over.  We each invite another couple.
First one was last night at our house.

Menu

Mango Salsa with chips
(Yummy, fresh tasting and a bit spicey)

Nottoway Plantation Salad
(Dressing to die for with 12 ingredients, did I mention sugar and honey)

Barbecued Shrimp on a bed of sweet potato grits
(The grits were a hit, had to have the what are grits explanation during dinner)
(White hominy (corn) ground fine)

Pumpkin Creme Brulee
(Supposed to be, but this couple couldn't come at the last minute)
(I know, Miss Janet would say, they should have dropped off dessert anyway, I agree)

Pumpkin Fudge, Chocolate Fudge, Peanut Butter Chocolate Fudge
(Great substitutes)

I guess this is where there should be great pictures of the food.  Having too much fun with friends, totally forgot.  But I did snap a few shots of the table before everyone arrived.

Hayes Ranch wine, if you can find this has blackberry in it, great under $10 bottle.

Hammered everyday stainless, I don't know the pattern, wish I did.  I am getting low on some pieces.  I got it a Neiman Marcus years ago.

I love my individual salt and peppers, if you ever need a hostess gift this a fabulous one. Found mine on clearance at TJMaxx Homegoods, I have seen them at Marshall's too.

I broke out the Waterford, so great to use.  Araglin pattern

Gold chargers, BBBeyond and white plates IKEA bargain.  Place setting of 4 / $4.99 a box of four place settings.  Ladies 12 pieces per box, isn't that less than 50 cents a piece! It was a one day sale they had.  I have 20 place settings. And yes the line was out the door before they opened.  Burgandy napkins from second daughters wedding reception. Red bottomed glasses, Pier One.  Runner Pier One.

It was too much fun!

Chair found on side of road

This happens to everyone but me.  They find some unused item on the side of the road and make it into something amazing.

My car passed this chair on the side of the road and then turned around for me to pick it up.

She is petite and had this funky paint job and no seat.  Great bones has she.

She has beautiful legs, no cankles.  My plan was to paint a red undercoat and black satin finish top and then sand edges for the red to show slightly through.  Because one of my motto's with paint is "paint it black".

I called hubbie out to see if he liked the color of the undercoat, he said he liked it so I stopped right there and just added a second coat of paint. Gasp no black.

Spray paint color Rustoleum - Claret Wine

I found this silk fabric on clearance at Joanne's.  Thread stitched feature is nice and had black tones, but mostly maroon and reds. Half yard $6.00.

After waiting to find someone with a saw....(nice next door neighbor took three weeks to cut the board for the seat)  Hey, beggers can't be chosey.  I can put a tool saw on my Christmas list though.

Finally... I get to add the fabric and cushion to the seat.

Drumroll please for my chair found on the side of the road.

She has beautiful legs!

Won't she be great with Christmas packages stacked on her!

Laurie Anna's Vintage Home Christmas Open House

I know, still October, but Melissa and I made the trip to Canton for this Christmas Open House and are we glad that we did.  Gorgeous, amazing and Christmas Music in the background...a little bit of heaven!  There was a lot of sparkly white.  Seemed celestial at times.  I did bring home some angel wings. And some other things that will be Christmas presents, so you can't see them!

Now enjoy a glimpse of her shop if you can't get there.  If you are in the Dallas area, you take I-20 to Canton, Hwy 19 exit and her brand new space is on your right, before the Canton Trade Days main entrance.  1st Monday is Halloween weekend.  See her blog here.

This plate wall was right by the check-out.  Every nook and cranny was packed to the brim.  Of course it was packed with customers too!  Didn't  mind the 30 minute check out line too much.

Her layering was perfect and sometimes extreme, but always beautiful.

Room after room more pretties.

This table had gone to the dogs!

Fun blue mason jar pendant lights

Wish my piled up sink looked as pretty as this one.

I wanted the iron hand, Melissa talked me out of it.  Hmmm, may make a trip back soon.

I told you layers upon layers of lovelies.

Thanks Laurie Anna for the fun girls day with my daughter!  I wanted to take a picture with you to post here, Melissa thought that was weird, plus every time we spotted you, it was in a whirlwind of commotion.  I did ask for your permission to take pictures for my blog, you said "yes, and thanks for asking", remember that ladies when you want  to snap away at peoples pretties.

Butterflies have landed

Aren't they gorgeous?

My daughter brought them home, they are feathers!  We added them to the front porch.
The brown leaves are real! Remember we are in Texas, when the leaves fall they are brown not pretty fall colors. (like the fake silk ones)

See brown leaves in background, we have about 10 Texas native oaks.  Which means about 25 bags of leaves that we have to pick up every year.  We mulch a lot of them.

Wish they were real monarch's.  I found some for the Christmas tree at Ross yesterday, jewel colored.

Frames around the house

Just a few unique frames around the house

This one is around a vinyl monogram.  I attached the monogram right to the textured wall.

Love the frame I found on clearance at Michael's.

Shadowboxed frame, graduation gift to our baby girl when she graduated college.

Twig wreath framed in whitewashed frame.

Pretty ornate frame tucked in the background.

Fall chargers

Found at Wally World

These are on sale now at a Walmart near you.

These are $3.00 each, I had the Williams Sonoma table cloth and had the napkins.

The matching tray, I always keep one behind the stove to catch splatters away from the tile.  Easier to wipe off the tray than my wall.

99 cent basket from GW!  Silver from Lynn's mom.
